The Heart Of A Pioneer

“The Heart of a Pioneer” is an energetic and fun 45-minute participatory mini-musical based on Utah State Core Curriculum concepts, emphasizing the Social Studies/Utah History curriculum. This assembly will feature the talents of the four-person folk ensemble “Willingly” using their voices and acoustic folk instruments. Students will have an opportunity to learn about Utah history through pioneer games, pioneer dance, pioneer lyric-writing, and pioneer/cowboy poetry-writing. Due to the complexity of this presentation, A.R.T.S., Inc. would like to thank “This is the Place Heritage Park” and “The Daughters of Utah Pioneers” for their help in making these programs possible for elementary schools throughout the state.
