Using voice and instruments, this “How the West was Won” program offers an educational and interactive musical program for students. This program takes the audience on a musical trip through the history of our country using folk songs. It introduces students to folk music and teaches the students interesting facts and stories that explain how music helped tell the story of the development of our country. With music and a little imagination the audience will discover America, take a river boat ride, fight the revolutionary war, enjoy a night at a minstrel show, experience the Civil War, discover gold, and build the railroad. This is typically a 35-45 minute performance that is guaranteed to involve the audience and capture the attention of all ages!
